4 Tips If You Are New To The Gym

New To The Gym? No Problem!

We all have to start somewhere and being a beginner at the gym should not prevent you from wanting to get fit.

I remember when I first started going to the gym. I was a scrawny 16 year old kid who didn’t really know what to do. The bulk of my knowledge came from Muscle And Fitness Magazines.

I wanted to improve. I wanted to see what I could accomplish and I wanted to see how strong I could get.

It was humbling, motivating, and challenging all in one and if I didn’t stick with it, I wouldn’t have gotten to where I am now.

My biggest piece of advice to you is to get started. There is no better time than the present.

With that said, I covered a few things that will help you along the way:

  1. Nobody Is Judging You – You might think that people are looking at you can care what you are doing but in reality they probably aren’t. That’s not a bad thing! Don’t worry about what others are doing and don’t let anyone else affect your journey.
  2. Have A Workout Partner – It’s much easier to get results and stay consistent when you have someone else holding you accountable. Find someone that pushes you, motivates you, and has similar goals as you. It will make the process much easier.
  3. Always Re-rack The Weights – A newbie mistake is using the weights and leaving them where they are. So I’m here to save you from them. When you use it, put it away.
  4. Wipe Down The Equipment – It’s gross when people don’t do this and you don’t want to be “that guy” that sweats all over everything and doesn’t clean up. Every gym should have wipes so when you complete your set grab the wipes and clean up.

I’m pumped that you’re getting fit. You must believe that you can do it and focus on the task at hand. If you need help with anything don’t hesitate to ask.
